Gutter installation or replacement is needed when gutters are visibly damaged, sagging, or frequently clogged despite regular cleaning. Signs such as water damage around the foundation, walls, or roofline, peeling paint, rust stains, or basement flooding indicate faulty gutters. Aging gutters, typically over 20-30 years old, or home renovations also warrant new gutters to ensure effective water drainage and home protection.
We offer 5, 6 and 7" K style gutters in .027 gauge (standard residential thickness) or .032 gauge (Commercial grade) Aluminum gutter and 26 gauge galvalume material option. We are not currently installing copper gutters.
5" gutter is most builders' standard. This may be used in areas with small fascia and/or in areas that need only minimal water management, such as small porch additions. However, in most situations we recommend 6" gutters to better handle the trees and rainfall we experience here in North Georgia.
6" gutters can carry almost twice the water volume as 5", and is our standard recommendation to most home owners in our area regardless of roof size. In certain ideal circumstances, 5" may be sufficient, but 6" gutters are much better equipped to deal with the amount of trees and storms we have here in North Georgia.
Our 7" gutter are commercial grade .032 gauge aluminum, and are mostly installed on commercial properties. We do occasionally install in very high water volume areas on residential properties or at homeowner's request.
Whether 5 inch or 6 inch gutters, a 3x4 inch or 4 inch round downspout is a must-have for proper water management. 3x4 inch, 4 inch round, or 4x5 inch downspouts can all be good options for 7" depending on the specific situation. 4x5" is commercial grade and unnecessary for most residential properties.
